McGee was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky (on the border of Tennessee) with a mild form of Spina Bifida, a neural tube defect that has impacted my life on a daily basis. It is probably the foundation and origin of my love of humor, art and language.
He has toured roughly 600,000 miles as a performer and speaker.
He has toured most of the U.S.A. and Canada and have toured parts of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, France and Britain.
In 2003, he won the National Poetry Slam Individual Grand Championship.
In 2006, he won the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship.
He’s been featured on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, NPR, CBC, and you can find a bunch of his videos on Youtube.
